Formstack call themselves a ‘workplace productivity platform’ and the company is all about delivering a range of business solutions to help you automate workflows, and speed up processes. Their products can be used to create online surveys, which are Salesforce integrated, and require zero code.

Easy drag-and-drop builder.
Build mobile-responsive surveys.
Surveys can be embedded on your website, shared on social media, sent via email, or conducted in person.
Conditional Logic and Conversion Kit are both designed to convert leads.
Integrated with Salesforce, Microsoft‍, Dropbox, and many more top companies.
Wide range of design and CSS tools.
Has tools to help you figure out which fields are causing respondents to abandon the survey.

Cons of Formstack

Several reviews suggest that online support isn’t great.
Upon visiting the Formstack website, it’s really hard to chat to anyone who isn’t a bot.

Useful no code drag-and-drop functionalities, but be prepared to deal with automated support, and AI, rather than chat to actual human beings. 

Alternatives to Formstack

For those of you who don’t know, Survey Monkey actually purchased Get Feedback in 2019. Unlike Survey Monkey, Get Feedback was specially designed for the Salesforce ecosystem, and it’s really good at collecting customer experience data in their CRM.

Pros of Get Feedback

Customize and personalize surveys through using Salesforce data.
Increase response rates, and zone in on customer behaviors with Salesforce Data.
You can check out your global Net Promoter Score® (NPS), Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT), Customer Effort Score (CES), or Goal Completion Rate (GCR).
Feedback can be sent via a number of channels such as Slack, Jira, and Salesforce.

Cons of Get Feedback

According to multiple reviews, this product is on the pricey side.
Their pricing for a Salesforce integration is not available on their website. To get a quote, you need to request a demo.

Salesforce itself has had a go at creating survey tools and this has taken the form of its Surveys and Feedback Management. There are three types of licenses: Survey Response Pack, Salesforce Feedback Management – Starter, and Salesforce Feedback Management – Growth.

After Enabling Surveys in your org, you can grant users inside your org permission to make and share surveys, as well as take a look at survey records.
You can set up custom permissions for Feedback Management users.
Customize the brand of your survey and choose from a decent range of question types.
Customize respondents’ experience through conditional logic.
Add Net Promoter Score (NPS), and customer satisfaction (CSAT) scores to your org.
The Survey Builder’s ‘Analyze’ tab can be used to analyze data and responses.

Translation tools for a globally accessible survey experience.

Cons of Salesforce Surveys and Feedback Management

Some of the solutions require coding experience and are complicated to set up.
The tools are not always up to the challenge of capturing and reporting on all data.

Available in both Salesforce Classic (not available in all orgs) and Lightning Experience.
Available by default in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited, Developer Editions.

Price

Salesforce Survey Response Pack: $420 per 1000 responses annually. This is an add-on to your regular Salesforce License.

Verdict:

These are useful tools but Salesforce Surveys are not always robust enough to capture and report on all survey data. Also, while Salesforce is a world-leader, it doesn’t get full marks for usability.

Well it’s free but unfortunately this app is not managed and also cannot be certified.
Because of the above, the app cannot be installed in Professional Edition.

Verdict:

If you don’t have a budget to speak of, and want to check out Salesforce surveys, this is worth a try.
You are going in with the knowledge that the product lacks certification, so don’t complain if the product quality is uneven.
